Customer memory

The only limits app with a memory

Most apps validate a cart and forget it. Order Limits records every purchase against the customer and enforces the cap on all their future orders. A "2 per customer" rule means two, whether the second attempt comes in five minutes or five months.

  • Lifetime quantity and spend caps. Two units ever, or $500 total, per customer.
  • Guests handled cleanly. Allow them through, or ask for sign-in only when the cart contains limited items.
  • Resets on your terms. One customer or everyone, one click, or on a schedule with Flow.

FAQ

Common questions

Anything else, the team answers directly. Support is one of the things the reviews keep mentioning.

How is this different from other order limit apps?

Two ways. Lifetime purchase limits track what each customer has bought across every order they have ever placed, not just the current cart, so a cap like two per customer actually holds. And enforcement runs inside Shopify's native checkout validation (Shopify Functions) rather than injected theme JavaScript, so editing the cart, opening an incognito window, or racing to checkout changes nothing.

Can I limit how much a customer buys over their lifetime?

Yes. Set a lifetime quantity cap (for example, two units per customer) or a lifetime spend cap (for example, $500 total). Usage is recorded automatically from completed orders, visible in your admin, and resettable per customer or all at once.

What rule types are included?

Six: minimum and maximum quantities, cart price floors and ceilings, weight caps in kg, lb, oz, or g, quantity increments and allowed quantity lists, mixed cart rules that control which products can ship together, and lifetime purchase limits per customer.

Does it work with Shopify Checkout and third-party apps?

Yes. Validation runs natively in Shopify Checkout through checkout extensions and works alongside bundle apps, subscription apps, and product options apps. Each rule can run in the cart, at checkout, or both.

What happens with guest checkouts?

You decide per rule. Lifetime limits need to know who the customer is, so you can either let guests through untracked or ask them to sign in. The sign-in prompt only appears when the cart actually contains limited products.

Does it support multiple languages?

Yes. Error messages localize automatically into 130+ languages, with full right-to-left support for Arabic and Hebrew, and every message is customizable per locale.

Can I automate limits with Shopify Flow?

Yes. Built-in Flow actions reset a specific customer's purchase limit, and Flow triggers let you tag customers, notify your team, or run any workflow around your limits.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan runs order limit rules on up to 10 orders per month, enough to test properly on a live store. Pro is $14 per month with a 3-day free trial and includes unlimited orders, lifetime customer limits, and checkout rules.

Do I need to edit my theme?

No. Install from the Shopify App Store, create your first rule, and it is live. No code and no developer required.
